Theona Zhordania works in the Los Angeles office, specializing in business and insurance litigation.

Ms. Zhordania currently serves as outside general counsel to several technology and retail distribution companies. In her capacity as outside counsel, Ms. Zhordania has represented these companies in securities fraud litigation, RICO claims, first amendment cases, employment and real estate disputes and anti-SLAPP litigation. She also represents these clients in regulatory, compliance and transactional matters.

Ms. Zhordania recently co-chaired a jury trial between a prominent entertainer and his distribution company. She was also instrumental in defeating an $80 million child support claim arising out of a surrogacy contract, which resulted in a published decision in her client’s favor in Farb v. Superior Court, 174 Cal.App.4th 678 (2009).

Ms. Zhordania regularly represents insurance companies in class action and bad faith litigation. She represents Allstate Insurance Company, Infinity Insurance Company, Safeway Insurance Company, State Farm Insurance Company, Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile Club and Travelers Insurance Company.

Ms. Zhordania was born and raised in the Republic of Georgia and moved to the United States after high school to pursue higher education. While still learning the English language, she graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a degree in Linguistics. She then continued on to attend the Pepperdine School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers. In addition, Ms. Zhordania earned an MBA degree from Pepperdine Graziado School of Business and Management.

While in law school, Ms. Zhordania was an active member of the Pepperdine Trial Team. She was the Regional Champion of the Texas Young Lawyers Trial Competition in 2005. She was the recipient of the Medal of Excellence in Trial Advocacy, the Cali Award in Remedies and Constitutional Law, and the Pepperdine Dean's Merit Scholarship. In addition, she served as the Literary Editor of the Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship and Law.

Ms. Zhordania was a legal extern for the Hon. J. Spencer Letts, Central District of California.
