Plaintiff Verdict: Skilled Healthcare Group:
With co-lead counsel, obtained a $677 million verdict against Skilled Healthcare Group, Inc. and 22 nursing facilities it operates in California. The post-verdict settlement included a multi-million dollar settlement payment to the class, along with a Court-ordered injunction requiring compliance with California nurse staffing laws.
This case was selected by the Daily Journal as a "Top Plaintiffs' Verdict" for 2010 (read more), and was selected by The Recorder as one of its "Top Verdicts" (read more).
For his participation in this case, Mr. Healey was selected as a "Trial Lawyer of the Year" for 2011 by the Public Justice Foundation.
